Outline: Canada's industrial sector will embrace clean energy, improve energy efficiency and leverage innovative technologies in the future. Adopt the Pan-Canadian Clean Growth Framework to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote clean growth, and transform the industrial sector.

In the future, Canadian industrial sectors will use clean electricity and lower carbon fuels.They will make more efficient use of energy and seizing opportunities unlocked by innovative technologies. Canada’s industry sectors, including oil and gas and mining and manufacturing producers, will make significant contributions to the national effort to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

The Pan-Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change will reduce emissions and drive clean growth in heavy industry and manufacturing sectors by reducing emissions of methane and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs); encouraging industries to use energy more efficiently, and by investing in new clean technologies and drive innovation to help grow Canadian businesses.
